The San Antonio Bar Association (SABA), San Antonio’s largest bar organization, shapes the local legal scene by acting as a voice for legal professionals, an educator for our community and an advocate for legal volunteers and clients alike. With a growing membership of almost 50% of Greater San Antonio Area attorneys, SABA offers unique social, networking and volunteer opportunities.

The State Bar of Texas is committed to fostering a culture of pro bono service in our state. As part of this commitment, the bar launched the Care Campaign to empower attorneys who want to serve the millions of low-income Texans who need legal help. While nearly six million Texans qualify for legal aid, the Texas legal community only meets 20 percent of the need. The Care Campaign is focusing on removing barriers to pro bono services and supporting attorneys in meeting the growing demand for civil legal aid.

The Family Violence Protection Team (FVPT) is a collaborative, community response to family violence that provides multiple services at one location. We improve access to law enforcement, counseling, crisis management and legal services for survivors of family violence and their children. We hope to increase batterer accountability, empower survivors to lead violence-free lives and lead the community's zero tolerance policy toward family violence.

The Bexar County Family Justice Center provides services and resources necessary to assist victims of domestic violence and their families in one centralized location.

Jane’s Due Process, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2001. The organization’s mission is to ensure legal representation for pregnant minors in Texas. Jane’s Due Process is one of the few organizations in the country dedicated to pregnant teens and is considered a pioneer in delivering legal services to this group. The core of the JDP program is its statewide toll-free legal hotline and lawyer referral service.

Students represent victims of domestic violence with a variety of civil legal problems including custody, divorce, visitation, housing, consumer, public assistance, and procurement of protective orders. Students sit “first chair,” and are responsible for all tasks associated with their cases. They meet with clients, draft pleadings, interview witnesses, draft and respond to discovery, take depositions, negotiate settlements, and conduct trials.
